using the natural boundaries of the site, along with the orientation, our aim is to design a modern single story house, that will sit well within the local area & can be used for future generations.

with the south facing, we want to incorporate a private courtyard area so that our clients, along wth family and friends are able to enjoy our lovely irish summers.. along with enjoying plenty of light within the house all year round too.

Covid-19 update

Due to the current Covid-19 update from the PM we have decided to work from our homes.

covid-19 update

The team at slemish design studio are looking into every possible way to make things as plain sailing for every client & every potential client.

using the likes of social media, telephone & emails we are able to keep in contact with everyone & post updates.. both on the current corvid-19 situation with us & latest posts…..how do we do this?

thats because we are still working… yes it’s remote working, but we are still working away where possible.

it’s strange sitting here.. in 2012 I was sat on my kitchen table with my PC looking to start up slemish design studio architects & now in 2020 i’m sat at my kitchen table again.. looking to keep our business going into the future

Coronavirus (Covid-19)

At Slemish Design Studio we strive to make our clients and staff our main priority. Given the current situation and in line with government guidelines we have taken the conscious decision to remain open.
With regular review, should the situation change we will make sure to take further action.

Please be reassured we are taking this very seriously and have introduced the following measures to help reduce the transmission and where we can stop the spread of the virus. Our office and surfaces are being regularly disinfected and our staff are practising social distancing i.e. no handshakes or close contact, together with basic personal hygiene measures.

We would kindly ask that if you are displaying any symptoms, have returned from a high-risk area, or have been in close social contact with someone who has returned from a high-risk, that you let in us in advance before coming into the office. This way we will be able to accommodate you in any way necessary. We will be more than happy to help by telephone, social media, email or video call.
Scheduled meetings can be arranged for a later date or we arrange to speak via phone/messenger or Skype.
Thank you all for your continued support & if you have any queries, please get in touch.

the extension

We are still looking to retain the “cottage” look of the main front body of the house, with the use of new render & paint finish, along with sliding sash windows.

Dunfanaghy House nearly ready for onsite

Last year we secured a project for a modern house and garage in Dunfanaghy, County Donegal.

The brief was quite simple. A modern open plan house with plenty of glazing to take in views of Muckish Mountian & Horn Head.

With this in mind, we put together something that Donegal County Council planning department was very complimentary of & approving.

Here we’ve produced a 3D render of the rear of the house to show our client how it will turn out.

New Project | Traditional family home in Bellaghy

We’re pleased to have been appointed as architects for this project outside the village Bellaghy, County Londonderry/Derry

designing this house has to factor many elements. Especially taking in the views & orientation.

the use of large glazing panels, along with traditional Irish building materials, such as stone, timber & slate, will help this project blend into the countryside.

should you have a project you’d like to discuss, please feel free to get in touch with us.

New project | Dromintee, Newry

We’re pleased to have been appointed as architects for an extension and renovation project in Dromintee, Newry County Armagh.

New project Dromintee, Newry for an extension and renovation

taking into account the orientation of the site & the amazing views up to Slieve Gullion, there’s a few aspect’s we’ll need to consider when designing.

Plenty of glass will be one material that will be used, along with a possibility of external insulation to bring this old farm dwelling up to current modern day living standards.

Timber cladding and local stone will be added to help blend this extension and renovation into the local countryside.
